You certainly lived above and beyond my expectations. It's been a ride; the most eventful, successful year I've ever had, I think. I completed the most important step in my life thus far; applying to college! From starting preparation in February to testing in June, taking the TOEFL in July, writing essays and filling in the Common App, travelling for an interview, waiting for my decision at 6am on December 17th. I actually slept in that day. All in all I've been extremely lucky during the college process...learning all material on my own, only taking stardardized tests once, going to one interview, applying for a single school...I think it's trusting that life will take you where you should be. I paid the deposit for Cornell last night. It's impossible to me that I became a Big Red nary two weeks ago.
Beyond college stuff, this year was so memorable! My family travelled to places near and far, dance took over my life in a great way, school was amazing, I spent more time with family, ate great food, I created my instagram and started my blog, I made new friends, cut my hair...
NYE with my dance buds! We met up at 6, took the subway downtown, had dinner then took selfies until 10:30 when we squeezed our way over to the central square to wait for 2014. We passed the time watching EXO videos and taking photos with other people's boyfriends. It was cold but there were so so so many people it reminded me of a penguin huddle. Everyone together now... 12 am came quickly! Everyone released their helium balloons and the sky filled with thousands of shiny colorful dots. It was a once in a lifetime experience (once is enough). Afterwards everyone began trudging towards the streets. Not unlike "the walking dead" really. I was half expecting Andrea or Sean to run out. Unable to find transportation we decided to get another meal. Yes at 2 am. Yes it's fine. Yes we did eventually successfully hail a cab and get home at 3. It was certainly a night to remember! What a way to bring in 2014.
