Happy Chinese New Years!
This year has absolutely flown by, I've missed a lot by being so busy, but it was all worth it in the end. I promise I haven't forgotten anyone. This will be my final New Years spent in China for the next four years unless the dates match up with Christmas. Thank you to everyone I know, I wish you all the best in 2014.
I found my best friend that I haven't seen in three years! Added him online and chatted until 2 am and we made plans to hang out the next day before I left. I expected him to be late as he is notoriously known for tardiness but was only made me wait 5 minutes because he was stuck in traffic. Hasn't changed a bit from what I remember, really just a taller version of the same bundle of awesomeness! He gifted me a tiny raisin box of firecrackers, which I am scared to heck of but shall keep. We walked all up down and around town the whole afternoon after I found out (change of plans) I was leaving tomorrow! Oh the good fortune. We shared drinks, then came the process of him trying to convince me to try all sorts of snacks while I resisted and carried bags. In order he had: a bowl of noodles while I ran home to lose my purse, 2 tofu skewers, 4 lamb skewers, 1 糖葫芦, a fruit plate we shared at the only bar with vacancy, 2 grilled chicken wings, 1 bottle of coke, and a handful of the pistachios I bought. But of course the best was the conversation. We had so much to catch up on and laughed the whole way while trying on ugly hats and scarves, sipping bubble tea, and dishing on relationships and such. Seriously the highlight of my trip back to grandpa's for Chinese New Year's, I missed him so freaking much and it was awesome to be able to spend some time together to make up for the last three years! I'll never forget my best friend, from the first time I met him 5 years ago when he was late 2 hours and revealed his love of Michael Jackson and singing to his hilarious expressions and words and its okay if I never see him again, friends forever.
