Hope you had a lovely day with your family. ♥ Steamed Red Bean Buns Filling this recipe or 1 can sweet red bean paste (chilled) Dough 1 Tbsp sugar 1 cup warm water 1 tsp yeast 3 cups flour 1/2 tbsp baking powder Instructions Dissolve the sugar in the water and add yeast. Let sit until it gets foamy. Put flour, baking powder, and yeast mixture into a large bowl and mix well. If dough is too wet add more flour, and vice versa. Knead until smooth, around 10-15 minutes. Place dough back into bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Find a warm place and let the dough rest for a couple hours until it triples in size. Form red bean paste into quarter sized balls and set aside.Knead the risen dough until it becomes workable and elastic, adding water or flour as needed. Divide it into quarters, and shape into logs. Slice logs into coins and place bean paste ball inside. Slightly flatten the filling and wrap the dough around it in a fan shape. Look for a video online for tips, it can be tricky to master.Place finished bao evenly spaces on a piece of parchment paper and set in a steamer. Fill a pot with 2 inches of water and place a small rack in the center. Bring water to a boil, set steamer on rack and steam for 10 minutes. Serve piping hot!
